Description

Born in 2006 in Homs, Syria, Anas Mohamad’s first few years alive were as normal as any other child around the world. However, around 2010, his life would take a dramatic turn as the Syrian Civil War began to take form. His family, left with no option but to relocate due to dangerous conditions in their home city, would make the move to the coastal city of Tartus. Fortunately, in 2015, Anas, his mother, and his sister, would all make the life-changing move of immigrating to Canada. Although the first few years in a new country would bring its fair share of challenges, Anas and his family would eventually begin to thrive. Upon his arrival in highschool, Anas would prove himself to be a capable and talented student-athlete. He would go on to graduate as the Valedictorian of the 2024 graduating class. Anas will continue his studies at the College of Engineering at the U of S, and hopes to continue to thrive in both the academic and athletic spaces.
