Today I saw a blade of grass in contrast to the blade of a sword, the former being soft and harmless and a sword being potentially very harmful. Also, a sword with 2 edges is described in Hebrews 4:12 as representing the concise and discerning Word of God. John refers to Jesus as The Word (see John 1:1,14). Jesus warns us not to utter careless thoughtless words as we will all be judged for our words as they are a reflection of our hearts (see Matthew 12:36-37). However, Jesus also offers us salvation from this time of judgement. We receive this salvation when we recognise our sinful state, realise we need saving and choose to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.
