Episode Description:

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I talk about getting comfortable with people not fully knowing you and being okay with that. Most people only know parts of who you are, and many times they like the idea of you more than the full version of you. That’s not a bad thing. It’s just part of life, especially when you’re building self-awareness and living from the inside/out.

We all want to be understood, but the truth is that not everyone deserves full access to us. Knowing your worth isn’t just about saying it, it’s about enforcing it. Part of that enforcement means being selective about who gets your time and energy. Not everyone needs to know your story or understand your decisions. Let people think what they’re going to think, because they will anyway. Most of the time, their opinions are reflections of how they see themselves, not you.

This applies to every part of life, including fitness. People might judge your choices, your pace, or your goals without knowing your reasons. But you don’t owe anyone an explanation for how you live your life or pursue your health. When you stop explaining and start living authentically, you free up a lot of mental energy to focus on your own growth.

The smaller the circle of people who truly understand you, the calmer your life becomes. And the more you connect with yourself, the less you feel the need to be understood by others. That’s one of the quietest and most powerful shifts you can make.

Thank you for listening and for continuing to build this community focused on living from the inside/out.
