Description

What if you could learn to communicate in a way that would make your relationships better? In this episode of the ‘So She Did’ Podcast, Kristin speaks with Paul Sterling, best-selling author of the book “Argue Less, Love More.”

Paul begins by explaining that in our relationships, we have 3 needs: to be heard, to be understood and to be valued. Often this starts with an understanding of our own needs and then intentionally working on our own communication skills. This often means understanding what your partner needs in the moment: do they need help solving a problem or simply an ear to listen? What do you need in the moment? Paul provides tangible examples of how to ask for what you need and provide it to others.

Paul explains two different relationships paradigms which he calls, “Happily Ever After meets Lord of the Rings.” In the first, the relationship is happy and content, but in the second, the couple is called on a journey together that may have some challenges and discomfort along the way.

At the end of the episode, Paul tells listeners how they can get in touch with him and get a free PDF of his book.
