Lv: Rīgas vidusskolā, rudens krāsās rikšojot, kāds notikums aizsākās literatūras klasē.
En: At Rīgas high school, as the autumn colors sprinted by, an event began in the literature classroom.
Lv: Lapām krītot ārpusē, Artis, aizrautīgs un nedaudz satraukts pusaudzis, gatavojās prezentēt savu projektu par latviešu dzejniekiem.
En: With leaves falling outside, Artis, an enthusiastic and slightly nervous teenager, prepared to present his project on Latvian poets.
Lv: Viņš stāvēja pie tāfeles, priekšā klasē pilnā ar draugiem un skolēniem, cerot, ka viņa mēģinājums pievienot humoru neizgāzīsies.
En: He stood at the blackboard, in front of a room full of friends and classmates, hoping that his attempt to add humor would not fail.

Lv: "Artis beidzot nonāca pie stāsta, kuru gribēja padarīt smieklīgu.

Lv: Dodoties izskaidrot kādu īpašu dzejas rindkopu, viņš nejauši nepareizi izrunāja vārdu.
En: As he went on to explain a particular stanza of poetry, he accidentally mispronounced a word.

En: The room erupted in laughter.
