Autumn Dawn in the Water Tupelos
Update: 2024-11-19
Description
Recorded on November 1, 2024, at Belmont's Clear Springs, this is the sound of a dawn chorus of autumn birds in the swamp. As the sun rises and burns off the morning fog and misty rain, listeners will hear the distinct kerplunk of ripened fruit falling from the towering Water Tupelo trees as woodpecker calls and drumming dominate, including the sounds of Pileated, Red-bellied, Hairy and Downy species. Other voices in the chorus include the autumn return of the Northern Flicker, Winter Wren, Yellow-rumped Warbler and Ruby-crowned & Golden-crowned Kinglets along with the Belted Kingfisher, White-breasted Nuthatch, Eastern Towhee and Barred Owl.
