Description

Recorded on September 13, 2024, at the backwaters of Enid Lake on Hubbard Creek, this is the sound of a rain-swelled creek babbling as it empties into a shallow marsh meadow near upland woods. Along the creekbank, buzzing pollinators visit late-blooming plants, while the ambient soundscape is filled with birdsong, crickets, katydids and croaking frogs. You’ll also hear the call of a Red-Shouldered Hawk, cawing crows, and the faint hum of a low-flying airplane overhead.
