Description

Recorded on September 26, 2024, at the dogtrot on the Way Out West Deck, this is the sound of a sunrise chorus following a peak migration night, where over 6 million birds passed through Panola County en route to their wintering grounds. The recording features a beautiful duet between a male and female pair of Carolina Wrens, with his song and her chatter echoing from the goldenrod near the deck. Listeners will also hear a mix of year-round residents, alongside summer birds like the Indigo Bunting, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Ruby-throated Hummingbird and Summer Tanager, who will soon be headed South.
