Let’s make Mandarin your favorite part of the day. 🌞🎧
🐭🐯 From clever rats to sleepy pigs — what does your Chinese zodiac say about you? In this episode, we dive into the legendary zodiac race, how to ask someone’s sign in Mandarin, and how to use simple grammar like “first,” “second,” and “third.” Perfect for beginner learners and curious minds!
🧠 Grammar of the Day: Ordinal Numbers
Today we’ll learn how to say “first,” “second,” “third” in Mandarin.
The pattern is super easy: 第 (dì) + number = ordinal number
第一 – first
第二 – second
第三 – third
Examples:
老鼠是第一名。
The rat is first place.
牛是第二名,因为它很努力。
The ox is second because it worked hard.
这是我第一次来中国。
This is my first time coming to China.
