Building Consent Culture in Marriage
Update: 2024-04-26
Description
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. To be perfectly clear, sexual assault is equally devastating to men and women, can and does happen to both. However, being that this experience disproportionately affects women, it’s very important to me to discuss it here. Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of sexual assaults are not perpetrated by strangers. So today, we will be discussing the importance of fostering a culture of consent in your most intimate relationship-marriage, emphasizing empathy, communication, and understanding to create safe and enthusiastically consensual intimate spaces. This is “Building Consent Culture in Marriage” on the F is for Female Podcast.
If you need help now, call 1.800.656.HOPE (4673) to be connected with a trained staff member from a sexual assault service provider in your area.
