At Tuesday’s meeting, Caldwell County Fiscal Court was updated on the work being done around the exterior of the courthouse.


District 4 Magistrate Jeff Simms reported that the project is moving forward.

click to download audioSimms added that he will email magistrates details about the monument lighting, the history of the bell and courthouse, and the rededication for next year’s 250th anniversary.


He also noted that several individuals have expressed interest in donating toward the relocation and cleaning of the veteran’s War Memorial.

click to download audioDistrict 2 Magistrate Jeff Boone thanked Simms for his dedication to the project, calling it a “labor of love,” while Judge Executive Kota Young agreed, adding, “with wonderful results.”


Again, anyone wanting to make a donation can drop off a check at the Caldwell County Treasurer’s office in the courthouse basement, addressed to Kasey Oliver or Lori Dunning, with “Courthouse War Memorial donation” in the memo line. Checks may also be mailed to Caldwell County Treasurer, Attn: Kasey Oliver, 100 East Market Street, Room 11-A, Princeton, Kentucky, 42445.
