Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) marks the point where the technology began to be used with pedagogical intent in education, providing support for emerging Constructivist models of learning. The use of CMC's also began to force questions of educators to explore the implicit assumptions involved in teaching & learning and begin to unpack those assumptions to meet the demands of CMC environments.
