Description

A Sligo Councillor has strongly rejected criticism aimed at local politicians over their alleged failure to secure for community use a building formerly used to house the Carrigans Health Centre, in Ballinfull.

The detached single storey building is situated on a 0.5 acres site and is comprised of 4 Offices, Store Rooms, Kitchen, and Toilet.

Some Local groups in the area claim that the building could have used for community groups.

Local Independent Councillor Marie Casserly says the Local Authority failed to express an interest due to structural concerns in relation to the property which were flagged by the existing owners, the HSE.
