Update: 2025-10-17
Description
A North West based senator has called for the establishment for an Air ambulance base in Donegal.
Senator Manus Boyle says the county's geographic isolation increases the need and urgency to improve emergency response times.
The Fine Gael Senator has warned that with the nearest major trauma centres hours away from many people, Donegal is too isolated not to have its own dedicated air ambulance base.
Senator Boyle has also claimed that the existing road ambulance stations are also not be properly supported or resourced.
