Psychology
This survey course will approach psychology from the holistic viewpoint. Exploration of the varied theories of mind (Freud, Jung), social-behavioral (Pavlov, Skinner), and the biological viewpoint will be emphasized. In addition, students will be able to learn about developmental theories (Kohlberg, Piaget, Erikson), as well as gain an understanding of abnormal behaviors. Students will come to see psychology as a science, as well as learn new concepts about themselves. The course will offer students the opportunity to fulfill a variety of projects, including film analysis and other minor activities. The students will be encouraged to participate in a variety of discussions and hands-on activities. HOMEWORK LOAD MODERATE
IB Psychology
The aims of the IB Psychology course are to: 1.Interpret and conduct psychological research and to apply the resulting knowledge. 2. Develop an understanding of the biological, social and cultured influences on human behavior. 3. Develop an awareness of how applications of psychology in everyday life are derived from psychological theories. IB diploma program guide, April, 2001 All students enrolled in an IB subject must sit the external exam at the end of Year 2.

AP Psychology
The AP Psychology course is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human and other animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. All students enrolled in an AP subject must sit the external exam at the end of the school year.
