Description

“If it excites and scares the crap out of you at the same time, it probably means you should do it.”

A quote I shared with Ana-Maria just before she jumped into the Y.O.U. Collective Coach Certification!

Ana-Maria Constantinescu is a life and performance coach for high-performance athletes and coaches. She is a former pro athlete herself and a former NCAA Div 1 tennis player.

Originally from Romania, Ana-Maria started playing tennis at 5 years old before moving to Canada in her early teens. Her talent landed her a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma where she competed and completed a Bachelors degree in Psychology.

After ending her professional career, Ana-Maria started coaching tennis back in Canada.

We met at a workshop that I was offering just over 3 years ago. I sometimes forget when things actually happen, however, I had brought my dog, Bali, as he was only a couple months old at the time and he is now 3 and a half.

This was Ana-Maria’s first experience with life coaching and she is now one herself.

It has been such a privilege and honor to be part of that journey. From meeting that summer’s day, Ana-Maria took part in the COME ALIVE Workshop and then took the leap into the Y.O.U. Collective Coach Certification.

This was the FIRST interview I recorded for the podcast back in September! At the time Ana-Maria was a the precipice of realizing a goal she had been working towards for quite some time: to build her business while traveling and supporting her boyfriend on the ATP Challenger Tour.

Since then Ana-Maria traveled to:

  • Mexico

  • Peru

  • Dominican Republic

  • Uruguay

  • Ecuador

With a world of possibilities ahead and countless athletes needing to experience the power of her coaching, Ana-Maria is just getting started.

She is one of the most positive, vibrant, and generous women I know and I can’t wait to see what she creates as she supports others in cultivating success on and off the court.

If becoming connected to who you are within and outside your sport, increasing your energy and getting clear about what your are up to, this episode is for you.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Finding your sense of belonging when moving to a new country;

  • Two key things that tennis has brought to her life on and off the court

  • The most important factor in turning fear into a positive ally.

  • How to find out who you are outside of the sport…and what Ana-Maria wished she knew when she was a pro.

  • How life coaching allowed her to look at who she is, gain energy and clarity about what she is up to in the world

  • The importance of giving yourself permission to reset

  • And how to simply cultivate compassion and connection in your life

Warning, by the end of this episode you may start seeing improved performance on and off the court and open your eyes to other goals you didn’t know you had.

Let’s dive in and discover what is true and authentic for you…

Here’s to living your truth, being fearlessly YOU, and letting your free soul guide you!

TAKEAWAYS

  • Start with you.

  • Slow down

  • Be present

ACTION CHALLENGE!

Reach out to a friend or family member to connect and ask: How can I support you?

if you want to take it to the next level and already know what you can do to support them, DO IT! Be it to offer to help them move, to fix your mom’s kitchen cabinet, offer to babysit your friend’s kids so that she and her hubby can have a night off…just do it as many people struggle in not only asking for support but in taking it when it’s there. And if you struggle with that yourself, practice saying YES when someone offers to help you out. Be it to open the door or help you with your accounting system. It may feel awkward at first, but do it anyways.
