Dane County’s Habitat for Humanity on Jimmy Carter, the Home-Bui...
Update: 2025-01-01
Description
Jimmy Carter’s legacy as a humanitarian is perhaps most closely tied to his work with Habitat for Humanity. Alongside his wife, Rosalynn, he helped expand the organization over four decades, personally working on nearly 4,500 homes in 14 countries. Habitat for Humanity has since built or improved homes for 62 million people worldwide.
In this segment, News Director Chali Pittman is joined by Hilary Parker, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Dane County, and longtime volunteer Dee Wylie, who shares her experiences working alongside the Carters on home builds in Léogâne, Haiti.
