Description

Dr. Dana Miller-Cotto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Kent State University.  She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Temple University and my Bachelors in Psychology from the City University of New York (CUNY) Lehman College. As an interdisciplinary scientist, she broadly examines why some students struggle while others succeed in mathematics, taking into account their cognitive skills and and contextual factors that could be explaining these outcomes. The goal of her research is to improve instruction and learning environments for all students to learn and thrive, regardless of where they come from.

She is currently accepting PhD students who plan to specialize in Psychological Sciences at Kent State University for the 2023 - 2024 academic year. Applications for this cycle are due December 1st, 2022. Please contact her directly at dmillerc@kent.edu if you have additional questions about current and ongoing projects. If you are interested in applying to Kent State's PhD in Psychological Sciences to work with her, please note this in your application letter and explain how your interests align with hers. Relatedly, she strongly advocate for undergraduate research experiences and welcome opportunities to work with undergraduates in my research. If you are an undergraduate student who hopes to gain research experiences in my lab, please complete the form here
