An incredible person and athlete, Shaun Kirkham is the only rower to have been in the NZ 8 boat since it started 8 years ago. They saw initial success winning U23 World Champs and then went on a very long losing streak. Shaun has seen it all and been through a lot of lows to reach the gold medal at Tokyo 2021. We cover so many things in this chat including how to build a team culture, how to deal with the lows of an athlete, the sacrifices it takes to reach the top, and why it's important to remember you're a human before an athlete.
