Beginning with the events that unravelled on New Years Eve in Bourbon Street when a former US Army veteran planted IEDs before driving a rented truck into a crowd before being killed in a shoot out with the police.
Both the New Orleans and Las Vegas have some striking similarities; both used rented vehicles via the same app, and they both involved explosives and firearms. In Part One, we will be diving deep into the motivations and background of the New Orleans attacker. Why did he carry out this attack? He had a decent job and had served his country. What could possibly possess someone like this to take 14 innocent lives?
