Did you know that Sharks have lived in our oceans for over 400 million years? Worldwide there are over 500 species of shark. You can find them in almost every marine ecosystem on earth, including freshwater! Dr. Marianne Porter, Associate Professor at FAU Biological Sciences and a National Science Foundation Career Award winner, Kai Lechat-Lam, 16, a Senior in HS and a Junior studying Major Biological Sciences, and Jamie Knaub, Ph.D. Candidates in Integrative Biology at FAU will share why they enjoy exploring the mysterious and wonderful world of sharks and how they selected this as their research focus.
