In this episode Pamela Kan, 2018’s WBE Star for WBEC-Pacific, discusses her experience as a thought leader in the field of manufacturing as well as if being a female in non-traditional filed women has shaped her approach.
Pamela joined Bishop-Wisecarver in April of 1991. In May of 2000, the Board of Directors appointed Pamela to the role of President. In 2009, Pamela gained controlling interest in the company. In 2015, Pamela led the first acquisition for the company with the asset purchase of Specialty Motions, Inc. In 2017, Pamela joined the Women in Manufacturing (WiM) Corporate Partnership Council. WiM is a national association dedicated to supporting, promoting and inspiring women who are pursuing or have chosen a career in the manufacturing industry. In 2018 Kan was elected as a founding bard member for the Association of Manufacturers Bay Area.
Pamela has completed in B.S. in Family and Consumer Resources from The University of Arizona. She has also successfully finished the Owner President Management Program from Harvard Business School and the Hazardous Material Management Certificate from UC Berkeley Extension. Pamela has continued to be involved with many professional and trade organizations and we were extremely grateful to feature her on our latest podcast.
