Episode 18 Voice issues of middle aged Women in the age of fight flight mode and masks
Description
Are you somebody who occasionally struggles with losing your voice, or the longevity of the use of your voice?
Back earlier this year, when i was talking to my Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon, he mentioned that it’s really common for Women in their early 40’s to have voice issues starting to show up. On top of this, Dr Joe Dispenza mentioned a study pre pandemic, that estimated that as much as 70% of the US population alone might be permanently, unknowingly operating in flight flight (survive mode) at any given time. Add on top of this, the pandemic elevating global stress levels and the introduction of masking wearing, plus talking to others from 1.5m+ away through a mask.
Why does vocal health needs to be a priority for people in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s plus?
In addition to, as a standard people and culture, occupational health and safety consideration for workplaces everywhere?
What does a voice injury, vocal straining/overuse or fatigue sound and feel like?
Who can help with that?
That’s what we’re talking about in this week’s episode.
