Equitable Access to Innovative Cancer Care: Dr. Jonathan Spicer
Description
Across the country, lung, esophageal and stomach cancers are the fastest growing and the most lethal, with a five-year survival rate of less than 20%. However, in the last few years, there have been remarkable advances in the treatment of thoracic cancers, and the surgeons at the Montreal General Hospital have contributed directly to these advances.
What the team wants to do now is to give more patients access to the most innovative care, the cutting-edge kind of treatments that are becoming tomorrow's standard.
Our guest today is Dr. Jonathan Spicer, Medical Director of the McGill Thoracic Oncology Network and a thoracic surgeon at the Montreal General Hospital.
This Interview was hosted and co-produced by Annie DeMelt as part of our CODE LiFE campaign.
