Experience the Magic: Fifth Avenues Annual Holiday Open Streets EventThis Sunday, Fifth Avenue between Forty-eighth and Fifty-seventh streets will be transformed into a pedestrian-only zone for the citys annual Holiday Open Streets event. The event, now in its fourth year, will run from noon until six PM, allowing people to enjoy the festive atmosphere and stroll freely.In addition to Fifth Avenue, several adjacent cross streets will also be pedestrian-only, creating an even larger car-free area. The DOT Commissioner, Ydanis Rodriguez, emphasized that this initiative aims to bring car-free cheer to Fifth Avenue, benefiting both pedestrians and local businesses.The event will feature a variety of attractions, including holiday décor, live entertainment, food and drink offerings, and unique activities. The Fifth Avenue Association highlighted that this annual event is a cherished tradition for both New Yorkers and visitors, offering a special way to experience the holiday magic on the citys most iconic retail corridor.West Forty-ninth and West Fiftieth streets will remain closed to cars and open to pedestrians daily from eleven AM to one AM through January fourth, two thousand twenty-six, between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes between eight AM and eight PM this Sunday to avoid delays.
