Finding your light* with Morgan Allora
Description
*pun intended, she's a photographer. FORESHADOWING-she may or may not also become our show photographer starting with S1 E12 aka THE FINALE
Morgan is a pretty exceptional human being. Creative, articulate, and a master of capturing the essence of a moment, she is a great person to be around whether she’s in front of or behind a camera. And if she’s behind the camera and it’s pointed at you, odds are you are about to have a new profile picture.
We have known each other for a few years and I was thrilled to ask her if I could pick her brain for our second episode… spoiler alert-she said yes! This episode is great and we talk about how she turned her passion for photography into a full time gig and how she’s balanced the artistic pressure in a way that keeps herself from burning out. We also talk about strategies to find your community/clients (and the power of having those folks by your side).
Stereotype warning, we discuss the tendency of queer women to jump head-first into commitment (“what does a lesbian bring to a first date? a u-haul”) and how when you try new things, it’s okay to experiment and decide something isn’t for you. Giving yourself grace on the journey to fulfillment is key; try things out, throw things out if they don’t serve you, and everything will work out. Be selective about who you let into your circle!
“you don’t have to u-haul all of your hobbies”
