Game of the Show: Hades
Published by Supergiant Games; MSRP $25, Buy on the Nintendo Switch store.
I didn’t think I’m going to make a big statement on this show but if nothing else catches me by surprise, Hades is my game of the year for 2020 (sorry animal crossing, that was close). This game has everything going for it - from a great narrative through an amazing soundtrack (honestly all Supergiantganes’ soundtracks are very good) to slick and super fun gameplay.
From a gameplay perspective, it’s really hard to pinpoint what makes Hades stand above the rest (Childrens of Morta and Dead Cells are great games in a similar vein). I think it’s the combination of room-like mechanics where I can choose rewards based on progress and the Diablo-like feeling.
