Laval police are raising the alarm about a rise in distraction thefts, and it’s something every Montrealer and Laval resident should be aware of. Between April 1 and August 20 of this year, over 40 people reported being targeted, mostly seniors, in incidents where thieves use diversionary tactics to steal jewelry and other valuables. Erika Landry is a Public Affairs Officer with the Laval Police Service, she spoke to Ken Connors.
