Description
A while back I was at a public relations conference where the keynote speaker was a White House press secretary. He was regaling us with tales of working the press corps, when he dropped a doozy that made everyone in the room double over with laughter. He said that it was easy to get press coverage. Just send out a news release, and the media will write about it.
In a room of professionals who try to get media coverage, we knew better. Maybe when you work in the White House, where everything is news, it’s easy to get coverage. For the rest of us, it will take a little work and persistence.
