Husky Talk- Kafi Davis
Description
Husky Talk is the best podcast around showcasing our alumni and how successful they are doing. We had Kafi Davis on, who is a former UConn Track star and had a great career.
Procyon Partners is one of the top 50 fastest growing companies in our country. President Sean Rabinowitz will provide you with exceptional outcomes, and a proud supporter of Husky Talk.
Kafi was always a spectacular athlete, listen to her story how she fell in love with track. She was a dedicated hard worker and competed in many events. Each person can participate in 4 per meet, her specialty was the long jump, 100-meter and 4 by 100-meter relay.
She was recruited by coaches after seeing her performance and the numbers do not lie. After visiting UConn, she loved the family atmosphere and knew she found her college.
Kafi went on to have a great career at UConn. She said it was a grind because unlike other sports, Track did not have much of an offseason. You can hear Kafi talk about constantly training for indoor and then you are competing in outdoor before you know it. Kafi was always used as much as possible because she scored points in whatever event she did, but she said long jump was her best.
After graduation, what is even more impressive is 7 years ago, Kafi was the first black female firefighter hired by the Norwich Fire Department. Her athleticism, strength, desire, and passion had made Kafi one hell of a fire fighter. She is also an excellent mother of 3 kids, two teenagers. Kafi keeps them off electronics and they all are sensational athletes who excel in wrestling.
