Description

Pickle cofounder Julia O’Mara is on the Female Founder World podcast with Jasmine Garnsworthy!

Julia is the co-founder and COO of Pickle, an app that’s essentially AirBnb for your closet, allowing you to rent out and borrow from peers. Julia and her cofounder met while working in investment management and were drawn to the idea of understanding purchasing decisions. They raised $250,000 from friends and family to start an app that was totally different to the Pickle we know today. The original idea didn't work and ran out of money. But Julia and her team identified the peer-to-peer clothing rental idea and, with no cash left, built a new app themselves. A little over a year later, they raised $8M for Pickle 2.0 and since then have been seeing 80% organic growth—wild!
