Joe Peiser - Executive Vice President & Global Head of Broking, Willis Towers Watson
Description
In this episode of Should I Stay or Should I Go, your host Mike Tannenbaum is joined by guest Joe Peiser, the Executive Vice President and Global Head of Broking at Willis Towers Watson.
Describing corporate insurance as "endlessly fascinating", Joe is a passionate advocate for the Insurance industry. His unique background, mainly as a Broker for the majority of his career, allows him to provide a greater understanding of the insurance brokerage business and how Risk Managers can be more effective, from his perspective.
Joe has also worn the hat of Interim Risk Manager when he served as the outsourced Risk Manager for a large client, in addition to regularly interacting with C-suite executives as well as senior risk leaders, all of which has enabled him to shed brilliant insights into the mutually beneficial relationships that Brokers, Risk Managers and Underwriters should have. Something that Joe points out, is especially important in these times of working through a hard market.
In this installment, Mike and Joe also explore key career advice including how to manage the current hard market, the importance of staying interested and teachable, how communication - especially with the C-Suite - is critical, and why empathy is an important skill to have.
