✓ In journal week 2, I took the theme of news about Covid-19 related to vaccination with the title Japan finds another Moderna Covid-19 vial suspected to contain foreign substance. Japan reported a fresh contamination case involving Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine. On Tuesday Aug 31, 2021 several black particles in one Moderna vaccine vial were found upon checking for foreign substances before its use. In some cases, foreign substances have been found in unused vials, whereas others appear to be caused when bits of the vials' rubber stopper break off when needles are incorrectly inserted. Japan's health ministry, citing an investigation on Wednesday said that rubber stopper material appears to have gone into it during the manufacturing process. Medical staff are advised to do a visual inspection of vials for discoloration or foreign materials before use.
