Leaves on a Stream
Update: 2024-07-15
Description
In this meditation we’ll visualise ourselves sitting next to a stream, watching the water flow by. Then, whenever a thought arises we’ll imagine ourselves placing it on a leaf and allowing it to float away down the stream. And we’ll simply continue to do this: watching the stream, and whenever thoughts arise placing them onto leaves and sending them along the with the water.
Meditations like this one, where we imagine thoughts as objects, can be a really effective way of creating space in the mind and bringing ourselves into a more relaxed, calm, and open state.
