A lisp refers to a person’s difficulty in producing  the /s/, /z/, /sh/, /zh/, /ch/ and /j/ sounds because of incorrect tongue and jaw placement. Usually /s/ and /z/ are primarily affected, but frequently the other sounds are also impacted.
