Losing a Mother & Brother to Fire with Anita Meenehan
Description
Today's episode of Where do I go from here? we have the incredible Anita Meenehan, sharing her truly extraordinary story of how she managed to turn her family’s horrific tragedy into a powerful life philosophy that focuses on helping others.
On a morning in April, 1995 Anita was woken up by the smell of smoke. Her house was on fire and in it were her mother, her 4 year old brother, and her babies - one of which was only 12 weeks old at the time. Devastatingly, her mother and brother did not survive the blaze.
Anita explains the trauma and the grief that she experienced over the years. It was her new responsibility to take care of her siblings that kept her alive, although she felt like she died with the fire.
One day, something changed, and she found her strength again. She wanted to live her life again, in honour of her mother.
Anita is a powerful, kind woman who's mission is to help anyone that is in need.
This was a truly inspiring conversation.
