The Week in Apple Macworld History

On December 3, 2013, Roman “appeared” on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report. Watch his appearance below.

Walmart (U.S.) offered the M1 MacBook Air for $499 on Cyber Monday. Before that, it was $549. We covered whether it is a good deal or not, and several readers shared their thoughts.

Absolutely. M1 is still a viable CPU in 2025 and you don’t need Apple Intelligence – there is plenty of tools available online.

Szymon Klocek on Facebook

Apple products sold by Walmart are always at the minimum end of the specifications to have a low price point without the options to upgrade. M1 is still an excellent processor for everyday use, but I would want at least 512Gb of storage, preferably 1Tb. The 8Gb memory is OK for email, browsing, documents, and streaming. Anything more like photo or video editing would be better with 16Gb.

Richard Clark on Facebook

The article leaves out the storage configuration. It only has 256GB SSD. Not a good value for a 5 year old Mac.

Peter Hillman on Facebook

depends on use case. Got it for my girlfriend who only does word processing and web browsing for school. She does zero graphics or storage heavy tasks
