At the anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima, Father Joe reflects on the planting of the flag at the top of the mountain; an iconic moment we all have seen. But what happened afterwards, a mass taking place after the death and destruction all on all sides, sparks a conversation between Father Joe and Father Rix. In spite of all we experience, the darkness we go through, we ask the question: is it possible to find holiness in a place where darkness has previously surrounded us?
