Reflecting recently on the first US truck that I had, a 1998 Ranger with the 2.5 Lima engine variant of the Pinto SOHC unit. The Ranger whilst common here in the UK, was never offered in this configuration.

This was the step side version with a few accessories fitted and was a very attractive looking truck IMHO (Wobbly 2010 video)

The interior was very clean and came up really well after a valet, also quite different from the UK version both inside and out.

Pretty sure these were the stock wheel, looking back now I wonder if it had been lifted a little?

A few little problems were found, first was a water ingress via the third brake lamp. Easily rectified with some sealer.

The only other real issue was the heater fan only running on one speed. Again easily fixed with a new resistor.

Fitted a little subwoofer behind the seat to improve the sound a little.

Enjoyed the Ranger, until I moved on to the S10, all this is back in 2010.

Time flies!

Looking at the vehicle licencing web site here in the UK, it would appear Vern met his end in 2012, which is a bit sad.
