The Australian government is introducing reforms to crack down on shonky NDIS providers with penalties of up to $16.5 million fines or two years imprisonment for misconduct and unsafe practices. The new measures target unregistered operators and providers who injure or kill participants, while giving the Commissioner powers to block misleading marketing materials that falsely claim funds can be used for luxuries like holidays.
