Description

Carol Jantsch's cat Beauregard never wants to be left out of anything, unless Carol is playing the tuba. Carol , the principal tuba player of the Philadelphia Orchestra, joined Classical IPR via Zoom from her home. While Beauregard attacked a plant in the background, Carol told Classical IPR about several projects she has in the works. The Philadelphia Orchestra has commissioned a tuba concerto by Wynton Marsalis for its 2021-22 season. Plus, Carol and her colleagues in the tuba/euphonium ensemble Tubular are in the process of producing their first album. Listen to the entire conversation and Carol's performance of Elizabeth Raum's "Dot Polka" below. Video of Carol's performance of Elizabeth Raum's "Dot Polka" appears below. Scroll down to see video of Tubular performing Kansas's "Carry On, Wayward Son." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0oGv_5rL2E
