It's not going great for the Penn State football recruiting staff and coaches. Another week without a head coach is bringing more decommitments and official visits for prospects to different schools. We'll be discussing and dissecting the fallout on today's BWI Live Recruiting Show. Join reporters Sean Fitz and Ryan Snyder as they break down the latest news about the program, including the timeline for players to make a decision and the latest decommitments. We will also outline the players Penn State must keep through the transition to salvage this year's team-building efforts.

Penn State decommit and flip update

We'll rip the band-aid off to begin the show and discuss the bad news for the program. Several players have announced their decisions to decommit from the program and look for a new place to play football. We'll also discuss defensive tackle Alex Haskell's decision to skip that part and flip to Syracuse this week. 

Next, we'll outline the latest info on where players plan to visit in the coming weeks. Can Penn State's current staff fend off the attack from other top schools to keep players in the program long enough for athletic director Pat Kraft to find the next head coach? 

Must-keep players 

Penn State doesn't have a top-five class by any means, but there are some very talented players in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Today, we'll discuss which players are must-keep prospects in the 2026 class. If Penn State can get any players to stick around, this group is essential to be on that list. We'll discuss why linebackers Elijah Littlejohn and Terry Wiggins are part of this group, along with safety Darrell Carey. 

What's the timeline for enrollment? 

Finally, Snyder will discuss the timeline for how long players can wait around to find out who will be Penn State's next head coach. Snyder will give a rough outline of the recruiting calendar and its intricacies to give fans an understanding of how the program could make changes in December and still get key players to enroll early for the coming year.
