Does this sound familiar to anyone in the workplace? It feels calculated, it feels intentional, it feels...like you're being pushed out. The number of women being pushed out of the mainstream workplace will reach 1 million this year - and often when it looks like she has voluntarily left, it was actually a planned takedown.
So what is the planned takedown? Anywhere from 12-24 months, there begins to be a mobilization facilitated by someone in authority around both your day to day duties, and also your overarching responsibilities. There may begin to be questioning around your work or the value of it, when not long ago you had been receiving praise.
The workplace was designed by white men for white men, and each day, organizations are becoming quite unabashed and unapologetic about their true desires. This transcends gender, and into the generational gaps that are being formed by younger generations who refuse to maintain the status quo of oppression. The solution, begin documenting, and get talking to one another.
