Princeton Council Approves Appointments, Promotes Tree Week
Description
The Princeton City Council approved several new appointments and reappointments to boards and commissions at Monday night’s meeting, and learned about Tree Week and a new spay and neuter partnership for the local animal shelter.
Mayor Brock Thomas recommended two appointments and one reappointment for the Princeton Tourist & Convention Commission.

click to download audioHe also recommended reappointing Ryals Farless to the Princeton Planning Commission, with a term ending October 1, 2028; Allee Coleman to the Princeton Board of Adjustments, also through October 1, 2028; and Suzanne Davis to the Princeton Electric Plant Board, with a term expiring September 1, 2029.
In other business, the council approved a resolution for the American Fidelity 125 Plan, following an explanation by City Clerk Julie Poole.

During department reports, Caldwell County Animal Shelter Director Kevin Lane shared that when he was in Louisville recently, he was able to secure a spay and neuter deal with the Butler County Animal Shelter that has its own vet clinic inside their facility.

click to download audioHe also invited Council members and local leaders to the Caldwell Regional Career Center for the unveiling of a new kennel built by students for the Animal Shelter, taking place on October 28th from 4 to 6 p.m., with the unveiling set for around 4 p.m. He noted that the vocational school is constructing 28 kennels in total, which will be installed once finished.
