In some parts of Southern Asia, it has been raining a lot. The rain was very heavy for many days. When there is too much rain, the rivers get very full and the water goes onto the land. This is called a flood. The flood water went into many towns and homes. Many families had to leave their houses to find a safe place. But there are many brave people helping. Rescue teams are working day and night to help everyone get to a dry and safe place. They are bringing food and water to people who need it. It is a very difficult time, but people are helping each other.



Now, let's go through the story sentence by sentence. 現在,我們來一句一句學習這個故事。

In some parts of Southern Asia, it has been raining a lot.

在南亞的一些地方,最近下了很多很多的雨。

The rain was very heavy for many days.

這場大雨持續了很多天,雨勢非常大。

When there is too much rain, the rivers get very full and the water goes onto the land.

Our first word is 'flood'. F-L-O-O-D, flood. A flood happens when there's too much water and it covers the land. 中文就是「洪水」。我們可以說: The flood made the streets look like rivers. 洪水讓街道看起來像河流一樣。



Our second word is 'heavy'. H-E-A-V-Y, heavy. In our story, we said 'heavy rain'. It means the rain is falling very hard and very fast. 中文可以說是「(雨)大的」或是「重的」。像是: The box is too heavy for me to lift. 這個箱子對我來說太重了,舉不起來。



Next up, 'rescue'. R-E-S-C-U-E, rescue. To rescue someone is to save them from a dangerous situation. Rescue 就是「救援」。例如: The firefighters came to rescue the cat from the tree. 消防員來救援樹上的貓咪。



Our last word today is 'safe'. S-A-F-E, safe. Safe means you are not in danger. 中文就是「安全的」。Let's make a sentence: It's important to find a safe place during a storm. 在暴風雨中找到一個安全的地方很重要。



It's important to help each other, especially in difficult times.

在困難的時候互相幫助,是非常重要的。

Even a small act of kindness can make a big difference.

即使是一個小小的善舉,也能帶來很大的改變。
