Reaching Out For Help w/ Luke Richards
Description
In 2004 I lost my biological father to suicide. He kept a lot of what he was going through bottled up inside. Never spoke to anyone. It came to a point where things got too much for him and the easiest thing, for him to do, was take his own life. So mental health is a very important subject for my family and I.
In this episode of the podcast I talk to Luke Richards. Husband, father to 2 boys, ultra marathon swimmer and speaker about his journey from battling addiction/depression and the dark thoughts going through his head at the time to how he started reaching out for help and the support he received to getting to a better place in his life.
He is very open and honest about his journey and uses his story to get the message out there. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
If you are finding life hard to deal with there is always support there for you. Luke mentioned Beyond Blue. Their website is beyondblue.org.au or contact them on 1300 22 4636.
