Game of the Show: Red Dead Redemption 2

I started playing RDR2 right off the heels of AC: Odyssey (finished the main storyline in 65 hours, saw I needed another 35 hours to complete the cult story and I nope-d out, I did saw all the ending on YouTube, glad I didn’t play all the way through).

I’m blown away by how RDR2 is able to take the romantic elements of the wild west (small towns, people trying to get by, rough outlaws) and let you live through it in a super immersive environment - this, and the fact that it’s super slow and methodical (hungry? Go hunt deer, skin the deer, cook the deer, eat the deer) gets a lot of emotions out of me.

The only thing that I don’t like (so far) which I guess contributes to the immersion (?) is a terrible save system: I’m riding the horse, robbers jump me, I quicksave so I can replay the encounter - I die (I can’t aim for the life of me), reload and the reload just cancelled the encounter :(
