Ro: Într-o după-amiază liniștită de toamnă, frunzele aurii acopereau străzile Bucureștiului.
En: On a quiet autumn afternoon, the golden leaves blanketed the streets of București.

Ro: Lumina arămiu-roșcată îmbrățișa clădirile, iar aerul rece aducea un iz de nostalgie.
En: The reddish-copper light embraced the buildings, and the cold air carried a hint of nostalgia.

Ro: În interiorul Muzeului de Istorie Naturală, liniștea era întreruptă doar de pașii vizitatorilor pe parchetul vechi.
En: Inside the Natural History Museum, the silence was broken only by the footsteps of visitors on the old parquet.

Ro: În sălile cu fosile antice, povestea lui Andrei și Elena urma să fie scrisă din nou, după ani de tăcere.
En: In the halls with ancient fossils, the story of Andrei and Elena was about to be rewritten, after years of silence.

Ro: Siluetele lor se proiectau pe pereții încăperii, în timp ce lumina slabă a ferestrelor filtra povestea toamnei.
En: Their silhouettes were projected on the room's walls, while the dim light from the windows filtered the autumn story.

Ro: Privirile lor s-au întâlnit și timpul păruse să se oprească.
En: Their gazes met and time seemed to stand still.

Ro: "Andrei," a zis Elena, ezitând puțin, "nu am știut cum sa te găsesc.
En: "Andrei," said Elena, hesitating a little, "I didn't know how to find you."

Ro: "El a răspuns cu un zâmbet trist, dar călduros.
En: He replied with a sad but warm smile.

Ro: "Nici eu nu am știut cum să te uit.
En: "Neither did I know how to forget you."

Ro: "Următoarele clipe au fost un dans tăcut de emoții și dorință de a afla adevărul.

Ro: Andrei a chemat-o lângă fosilele care păreau martori nemuritori ai întregii povești umane.
En: Andrei called her over to the fossils that seemed like eternal witnesses of the entire human story.

Ro: "De ce ai plecat?

Ro: " a întrebat el simplu, dorind sinceritate.

Ro: "Până la acel moment, Andrei se gândise la mii de scenarii, dar nu s-a pregătit pentru această mărturisire.

Ro: În timp ce Elena îi povestea despre temerile și greșelile ei, lui i se părea că povara de pe suflet începea să se ridice, încet, foarte încet.
