Actually read the book she published...this not even three hour short story remake is an insult to the book she actually did write. The book contains way more information and leads you into the mind of Diane Downs. This audiobook barely scratch the surface.

flat narration.
I enjoy Ann Rule's works most of the time, but this is the first time Ive heard her preform. It was pretty flat, monotone, and terrible. I enjoyed her other books read by others though. Wouldnt recommend this.

What did you love best about Small Sacrifices?
I love true crime, especially Ann Rule. I was upset however, that I bought the abridged version. I read the book years ago and it was much longer and more detailed. I will purchase the unabridged version very soon.
But this story is so amazing and it boggles the mind how a mother could be so selfish.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
For sure! I loved that Ann Rule herself narrated it.
What does Ann Rule bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She is telling HER story that SHE wrote and put her heart and soul into. It makes a difference to have the author retell what she worked so hard on.

I love Ann Rule's ability to put it all together.

Sacrifice of your money or credit!
This was a waste! Ann Rule is an "okay" writer on one of my favorite genres. However, she is not (nor should she EVER be) a narrator!! I found this book reading almost incomprehensible. What a sacrifice!
