Stop The Shrug!!
Description
Whether it be stress or normal daily activities, often times the shoulders can start to gravitate towards the ears. The muscles on the tops of the shoulders (upper trapezius and levator scapulae) can become very tight which can cause sustained shoulder shrugging. The picture on the right demonstrates that with shrugging the shoulder blade elevates. This shrugging can cause neck pain, shoulder pain and even rotator cuff problems over time. Muscular imbalances and poor posture will alter smooth movements and can cause pain.
